We offer many different fire extinguish products/parts and will install them for you. We will also make sure everything in your extinguisher is compatible and works properly. |
Brackets All extinguishers must be at least three inches off the floor. The most common tool to comply with this regulation is to mount an extinguisher on a bracket. Brackets can be installed when a new extinguisher is purchased. We can also remount a bracket that has been pulled out of the wall. |
Collars These verification of service collars must be placed on the collar of the fire extinguisher every time the extinguisher is opened to perform a service, such as, a six-year maintenance, a hydrostatic test, or a recharge. The purpose of the collar is to show the owner and the fire marshal that the service was performed as required and that the technician did not lie. |
Fire Extinguishers There are many types of portable fire extinguishers available. The most commonly used is a multi-purpose dry chemical Class ABC extinguisher, which is used on wood, flammable liquids, and electrical fires. Regular dry chemical or carbon dioxide Class BC extinguishers are used in electrical rooms or areas with flammable liquids. Wet chemical Class K extinguishers are used in kitchen areas to extinguish grease fires. Halogenated and Foam extinguishers are also available but not as common. We will make sure to install the proper extinguisher based on the amount and type of coverage needed. |
Gauges Occasionally, a gauge will stop working properly. Many times, this is due to hitting the fire extinguisher accidently. A bad gauge can usually be spotted when the extinguisher shows that it is not charged anymore, during a six-year maintenance, or during a hydrostatic test. |
Hoses Hoses rarely stop working properly. If the hose has cracks in it, then it needs to be replaced. If the hose is not in good condition, then the extinguishing agent will not be shot directly at the fire when the extinguisher is used. |
This is a list of our most commonly sold products. If you are interested in a product that is not listed here, please call the office and ask about it. We might still be able to install it for you. |
Cabinets Some owners prefer to put their extinguishers in a cabinet instead of on a bracket. Cabinets prevent individuals from accidently damaging or tampering with the extinguisher before it needs to be used. They are a little pricier than a bracket, but it might be cheaper in the long run if the extinguishers continue to be damaged or tampered with. |
O-rings Every extinguisher has an o-ring gasket that goes on the collar. This part is extremely important because it helps seal the gap between the shell and head of the extinguisher to prevent the pressure from leaking out. If an o-ring is not in good condition, then the extinguisher will not be able to keep a charge. Extinguishers placed in more extreme conditions, such as, outdoors and factories are more likely to have a damaged and cracked o-ring. |
Pull Pins The pull pin is a vital part of the extinguisher to prevent false tampering. During an inspection, if the pull pin is missing, the technician will assume that the extinguisher has been used. At the time of an inspection, a technician will put a new tamper seal on the pull pin to prevent it from coming out until the extinguisher needs to be used on a fire. |
Rivets If one of the handles is broken off the extinguisher, rivets can be used to repair the handle without having to replace the extinguisher. Usually, the handle only gets broken if the extinguisher is accidently knocked. |
Signs We offer many different types of signs to inform your customers the location of the fire extinguishers in the building. Many jurisdictions require these signs, anyway. |
Valves and Stems The valves and stems release the pressure when the handle on the extinguisher is pushed down. If the valve is in bad condition, then the pressure will leak out and the extinguisher will not work when needed. A bad valve can usually be spotted when the extinguisher is unable to keep a charge or during a service. |
